July OwlCrate Unboxing!
I wanted to do something exciting for my first Bookish Blog post. I’ve been binge watching Booktube Subscription Box Unboxings and Book Hauls lately, so I signed up with OwlCrate and today I’ll be doing an unboxing! I did a lot of research to figure out what subscription box would best suit me and I ended up going with OwlCrate. OwlCrate Always comes with a Hardback book that was released in the past 45 days of that box. It also always has a signed book plate and letter from the author. And then it’s filled with a whole bunch of cool bookish items fitting that months theme.
Potter heads, it’s time to get excited! Beginning in August, every box for the rest of the year will include an item inspired by Harry Potter! (It was announced a couple of weeks ago that on October 20th, not one but two new Harry Potter books will be released!!! So make sure to get the November box because I’m thinking that there will be a lot of Harry Potter inspired items in that box. <— This is just my personal guess not anything official.)
I will be Unboxing OwlCrate’s July 2017 box! This month’s theme is “Wanderlust” and I couldn’t be more excited for it!
This will be a very spoiler-ie post so if you are currently waiting for your box to arrive and you want to be surprised don’t continue reading.
I will also be adding in how much these items cost (as of when this post is published. If you are reading this in 2 years, hi! How are you doing? How’s the future treating you? Are these items cheaper now? Cause they should be! Their 2 years old for gosh sake! ;).) And where to find them. I probably won’t be able to find the price and marketplace to everything so I do apologize for that. I do this incase you don’t want the whole box but do want some items in it. That’s what I did for the March box. But it turned out to be more expensive to buy 2 of the items separately rather then to just get the box (I ended up just getting the box. I’ll link that unboxing HERE)
And without further ado…..
….let the unboxing begin!
First Item in the box (Que drumroll please)
OwlCrate graphics are so amazing! There is their card that has all the spoiler-ie goodness on the back.
The second item in this box is a Little Newt Scamander Pocket Pop! Keychain! For those of you who don’t know Newt Scamander is the main character of Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them set in the Harry Potter Universe. Newt was born in 1897 and attended Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1908 or 1909 where he was placed into the House of Hufflepuff (like how I was in 2007 but that’s besides the point).
You can find it on Amazon HERE
Next is this funky little notebook made by Ooly is 1 of 8 designs that were sent out. This notebook can easily fit in a small purse or a back pocket. Perfect for jotting down your travel memories! This is an OwlCrate Exclusive Design but you can find other notebooks made by Ooly HERE
Eeeep! I can’t wait to use this super cute luggage tag for my trip to this month!!! Owls are one of my favorite animals and it perfectly fits this box (OwlCrate) and theme (Wanderlust). This little guy will protect your bags while you fly off towards new adventures! This item was wonderfully crafted by Mudpuppy.

Now you too can become Antari and join Kell on all of his misadventures, with your very own A Darker Shade of Magic inspired pocket mirror! This beautiful mirror was designed exclusively by Miss Phi. The phrase ‘As Traverse’ means ‘To Travel’!
I can’t find this mirror specifically but HERE is Miss Phi’s shop. They have amazing stuff and amazing looking mugs! (I’ll be ordering 1 or 5 soon!)
Here is a sweet little 1” pin that features a palm tree, an airplane, and a crystal clear blue sky. This button is perfect for putting it on a hat, back pack, or tee shirt!
I really don;t know where to find this little pin, y’all. Try eBay?
Y’all!!!!! I legitimately scram when I saw this! This Lord of the Rings inspired backpack!!!!! I can’t you guys! How freaking cool is this! The is a Canvas backpack with dark green writing and straps. The quote in the center of the ring says “Home is behind, the world ahead, and there are many paths to tread through shadows to the edge of night, until the stars are all alright.” I am unashamed to admit that I teared up a little bit when I first read this! This item was created exclusively by OwlCrate. So the only way to get it is to buy this box. (Which is so freaking worth it!!!)
How cute is this art print designed by Shailey Ann Designs?! It features a quote by Francois Rabelais, and is also inspired by the novel Looking for Alaska. his is another OwlCrate Exclusive Design.
Here it is Y’all! The book of the month, The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzie Lee! This is the story of a charming lord who won’t grow up, his best friend ( who he may to may not be in love with), and his studious and sassy sister. This is the tale of their incredible road trip though 18th-century Europe, and all of the mischief they encounter blog the way. This book has everything you could ever want- an amazing cast of diverse characters, pirates, highwaymen, mysterious artifacts, laugh-out-loud moments, dangerous adventure, and ALL THE FEELS!
This is an exclusive cover just for OwlCrate! The original cover.
This cover is also really nice but I just love the calm blue with the pop of orange lettering.
You can get this book HERE
And (as always) a signed nameplate by the author! I always put mine on the title page ❤
And look at this awesome letter from Mackenzie Lee herself! So cute and fun to look at!I love when letters can darn near double as room decor!
What an awesome extra! this is another OwlCrate exclusive folks! I love being able to have a map to track where the characters are and where they are heading! So cool!
Here’s an exclusive look at next month’s box!!! The Wicked Box will also include a additional exclusive book from Rock Paper Books! I can’t make out most of the books shown in our sneak peak but I can see Peter Pan! Peter Pan’s one of my all time favorite characters from books, to movies, to TV shows I simply can’t get enough of him! I’m hoping that’s the additional book I receive next month!
