Most liked pictures of 2019! 🎉 This year has been the most difficult of my life. It stared off with me starting 6 rounds of chemotherapy to try and get my Lupus under remission (it didn’t work). During those 3 months of treatment my brother had major knee surgery after getting his ACL in a basketball game. Then my mother got diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. Over the next few months my grandfather and uncle were diagnosed with Parkinson’s. . My mom and I went to Arizona for 2 months this summer to try alternative treatment for her cancer. It turns out we were exactly where we needed to be as she has massive brain surgery by a world renowned neurosurgeon. We spent 28 days in the hospital in the ICU, radiation, and rehab to help mom learn how to walk again. . Although the second half of this year was less eventful it didn’t come without its share of struggles. . Yes this year was tough but it brought our family closer together and made us open our eyes to see that each moment together is truly precious. I usually add a certain amount of props or pizzazz to my photos. But this book requires none of that. It is enough all in of itself. . I have never reviewed a book before so please forgive me as this review won’t be perfect. The story, the characters, everything draws you back into this wonderful world that Brigid Kemmerer created with A Curse So Dark and Lonely. I have lost count the times I have hugged this book to my chest, buried my face between its pages, or slammed it onto my bed in a moment of anger. It was a million-to-one cosmic fluke that I was able to get my hands on this book early and I will never not stop being grateful for it. This book does what I wish all books would do. It opens your eyes to the plights of others and forces you to empathize with them. If more people read books like this and took away what I am taking away from it, the world would be a better place. . The only negative thing I could say is that because I received this book early, it is just that mush longer I now have to wait for the next book to be released. . Please do yourself a favor and preorder this beauty. I have 3(sorry not sorry mom) of these babies preordered myself and you best believe that I’ll be setting my alarm clock to preorder the next book in the Cursebreakers series the moment it comes available. @brigidkemmerer you have truly done it again. I am honored to be apart of your cursebreakers street team and will be begging my friends to read the books I’ve given them for Christmas (yes, they all got copies of A Curse So Dark and Lonely because I was rather tired of being the only one with this world inside of me).
